Ampeca Tertius lost!

Catastrophic awakenking of undiscovered tombworld underneath Ampeca Tertius

The tomb world awakes

The just recently awakened Necron forces were first spotted by an Imperial Fists kill team squad on a recon mission during the night cycle of jungle world Ampeca Tertius. Despite suffering heavy casaulties and an eventual defeat in the first encounter with canoptek contructs and scarabs, they manage to dispatch a distress signal to the nearing battle fleet nearing the subsector and held their position with limited forces and supplies until wave by wave the reserves arrived.

A shard of C'Tan discovered

After reinforcing the fallback position of the near lost recon forces with tactical squads and a dreadnought, soon the full extent of the danger ahead is revealed to the Imperial fists forces. Little was known to mankind that a long forgotten shard of C'Tan was lumbering in stasis of the tombworld below. When awakening their lifeless temples, the shard was discovered and called by the necrontyr architects down in the depths of the planet.

This very C'Tan shard proved to be a massive challenge for the deployed Astartes forces, reaking havoc amongst their lines, blowing apart man and machine alike.

The soon to be fallen dreadnought brethren
Finally Lysander teleports onto the battlefield, calling out and eventually killing the demigod!
Yet meanwhile, slowly but steadily, the forces of mankind lose grasp of the battlefield, falling one by one, until his veteran brethren, supplied with their massive terminator armours and thunder hammers, manage to deep strike into the fray and challenge the cold cruel mechanical beings. Soon thereafter however, it appears the losses suffered before were too great, and the Necron foothold proved too strong to be pushed back, leaving the Space Marine forces with no other option but to concede the battlefield to the overwhelming waves of silver and green.
