The Cantagarra III incident

The Cantagarra III incident

M40.161.105 - Long lost renegade Raven Guard repel Imperial Fists landing

Imperial Fists landing troops make a disturbing discovery as they go planetside on Cantagarra III to secure long lost tech-arcana. Shortly after the Astartes secure the perimeter, forces identified as Raven Guard turn up and attack their brethren, denying the Imperial Fists access to the planet's lost treasures. Communication attempts remain unanswered, forcing the Fists to retreat from the area after taking heavy casualties.

Raven Guard renegades appear in numbers

Raven Guard reinforcements outflank the Fists, turning the battlefield into a cauldron

Terminator forces land in the midst of the renegades

The wreckage site that used to be the Imperial Fists foothold

Whether the forces met on Cantagarra III were Legion Astartes turned to Chaos long ago but visually unaffected, or long lost brethren turned renegade millenia ago in the turmoils of the Horus Heresy, or if these were Imperial troops on a secret mission, denying their brethren for a greater good, remains unknown....

New recruits for the Space Wolves

New recruits have been added to the Space Wolves forces, adding more punch to the core forces.

This time I incorporated the right shoulderpad squad markings, where my other space wolves just have yellow pads. I like this look more and will spice it up with some decals, too.

I also added a black trim to the base which in my eyes looks better and I will add this to other existing and coming models, as well.

What remains is, as mentioned, add decals, which I also have to do for the Imperial Fists, and some base decoration. I'm thinking about picking up some technical paints from GW for that step, not sure about it yet though.

Next on the list is get my Eldar all to a decent degree of painted, add a squad of long fangs, and then delve either into Chaos or Dark Eldar

Periphles V - Last Resort Exterminatus?

Periphles V - Last resort Exterminatus?

M40.161.022 - Periphles V lost to the Otomikh dynasty

The unfortunate recent development of engagements on the planet surface force the Imperial troops to full commitment of forces in order to establish a dearly required foothold on the planet.
Scans reveal the Necron reign being spread over most of the planet by now, having established a significant stronghold.

Planetbound Space Wolves forces relay tactical information to the orbiting fleet, calling in most promising positions for a final strike.

After swift coordination, the newly arrived Imperial Fists frigate Dorn's Valour sends deep striking and landing reinforcements to bolster their feral brethren's position.

Unfathomable amount of bolter shells answer the lightning-like sizzling of gauss weaponry on thet Necron side, whilst the Necron forces slowly push into the Imperial foothold.

Harald Deathwolf and his Thunderwolf Cavalry wolfguard charge up the flanks, wreaking havoc amongst the machine minds, but have to eventually give in.

The balance swings heavily in favour of the Necrontyr heirs when the C'tan Shard and his Lychguard charge into the Astartes position, their weaponry reaping through the post-human soldiers like scythes through a corn field.

All hope is all but lost when dark spots appear in the skys, growing into glowing shards wailing through the dusty air, crashing into the ground like meteoric rain. Deep Strike Assault!

The tides of battle turn back when the Sentinals of Terra's finest fighters land in midst of the Necron forces, their Terminator Armour towering over the lifeless beings around them, their stormbolters howling, their thunderhammers crashing down.

Only after the last of the relief forces deep in the enemy lines are wiped out, the Necrons continue their slow and dreadful advance.

In the end, all support of artillery, armored vehicle and heavy infantry fails to hold off the metallic tide's advance.

The remaining forces of Imperial Fists only manage to secure their brethrens tactical retreat and let loose of the foothold, returning to their ships in orbit, the planet seemlingly lost to the Imperium of Mankind.
